Natural Wines are easily explained. In a nutshell: no use of chemicals in the vineyard, no additives and technological manipulations in the cellar. Sulphur additions are also kept to a bare minimum, if added at all.

In recent years, the term Natural Wine has moved from niche conversations into mainstream wine culture. But while the phrase may sound new, the idea is ancient. Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention, from grapes grown without synthetic chemicals, fermented with native yeasts, and crafted without filtration, flavor corrections, or additives.
It is wine shaped by land, hands, and time — not by technology.
At Gyurjyan, this philosophy is deeply connected to the millennia-old winemaking heritage of Armenia and Georgia. Our wines are born in amphorae (Karas & Qvevri), guided by nature rather than controlled by it.
Unwind and savor the flavors of Gyurjyan Winery with a personalized tour and tasting. Reserve your spot today to explore our vineyard and sample our exceptional wines.

Natural wine begins in the vineyard. Grapes are grown without pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers. Healthy soils full of life create healthy vines — and honest wines.
Each grape cluster is carefully harvested manually, allowing us to select only ripe, clean fruit and treat it gently from the very beginning.
Fermentation happens naturally thanks to the wild yeasts that live on the grape skins and in the winery. No industrial yeasts, enzymes, or fermentation accelerators are added.
No fining.
No heavy filtration.
No artificial corrections.
The wine develops its own balance over time — including skin-contact styles like amber (orange) wine created by fermenting white grapes on their skins and seeds.
Some natural wines are made with zero added SO₂, and others — like ours — may use only the smallest amount at bottling to protect the wine during travel.
Explore our collection of handcrafted wines, each one a testament to our commitment to quality and excellence.

Natural wine tends to be more expressive, textural, and alive than conventional wine. You may notice:
🍇 deeper fruit and herbal notes
🍂 earthy and mineral tones
🥂 gentle texture from skin contact
🌿 a “living” energy in the glass
Some bottles appear slightly cloudy — this is normal. It simply means the wine has not been filtered, and its natural structure remains intact.
Each vintage tastes slightly different — because nature is never the same twice.

Our wines follow an ancient tradition: fermentation and aging in clay amphorae (Karas & Qvevri) — the original vessels of winemaking across Armenia and Georgia.
Clay allows the wine to breathe gently while resting on the skins and lees. Time moves slowly inside the amphora. We do not rush it. Our élevage lasts nine months from harvest to bottling, allowing the wine to settle naturally and find its equilibrium.
This is not a marketing idea.
It is the way our ancestors made wine — and the way we continue today.

For us, natural wine is not a fashion movement or a shortcut to a label claim. It is a philosophy of honesty:
✔ Respect for the land
✔ Respect for the vine
✔ Respect for the natural rhythm of fermentation
✔ Respect for the people who will drink the wine
Every bottle should speak truthfully about where it comes from — the soil, the season, and the hands that guided it.
Delight your senses with our handcrafted wines, carefully crafted to showcase the unique character of our vineyard.

Natural wine is for those who value:
✨ authenticity over perfection
